Bengaluru’s “Invisible Pani Puri” With “Colourless Water” Has Internet’s Attention

Pani puri is more than just a street food in India — it is an emotion for foodies. So it is no surprise that pani puri is often subjected to various food experiments. In the world of unique and bizarre food combos, a vendor has come up with “invisible pani puri”. A video shared by a food vlogger on Instagram shows a golgappa vendor in Bengaluru selling pani puri with “colourless water”.  Surprisingly, the water has different flavours and is spicy to taste. In the clip, the vlogger can be seen introducing this special pani puri water to the camera. The video features a semi-transparent liquid stored in a jar, which he transfers to a disposable glass.

Next, the vendor is seen preparing a plate of lip-smacking pani puri with some spicy matar. The video shows the vlogger taking a sip of that liquid, saying, “Spicy…spicy for me.” The clip concludes with him filling the puris with water and relishing it. Sharing the video, the vlogger wrote, “Ye hai Bengaluru ke sabse badiya golgappe. Invisible pani poori waale golgappe. [This is Bengaluru’s tastiest golgappe. Pani puri with invisible water].”

Countless users in the comments section reacted to the video. Several users who have already tried the dish revealed that the vendor uses vinegar in the pani and this is why it remains colourless. A comment read, “This is Bangarapet pani puri. They prepare the pani using vinegar so the colour comes as white.”

Another read, “It’s called Bangarapet panipuri.”

Ya Bangarapet ka vinegar pani puri hai [This is vinegar pani puri from Bangarapet],” said one.

A few users didn’t shy away from confessing that they didn’t like this food combination. One user commented, “It’s the worst I ate. And it’s not pani puri.”
