Chickpea Bread Or Dhokla? Italian Vlogger’s Recipe Sparks Debate Online

Bread is a go-to option for many on a busy workday. From gluten-free bread to brown bread, there are quite a few options available in the market. Now, tell us have you ever heard of or tasted chickpea bread? A food vlogger from Italy just made bread out of chickpeas, but the Internet is comparing it to dhokla – the traditional Gujarati dish. The vlogger wrote in his caption, “If you are looking for a quick and healthy lunch, my super easy bread made with just chickpeas from a can and one egg is what you were looking for! Did I tell you that it is ready in just 5 minutes?”

In the video, the vlogger puts chickpeas, an egg, and some flour into a mixer to grind into a paste. He then microwaved it for 4 minutes. Once cooked, he cut the bread into half to make burger buns, filled them with tomatoes, Italian prosciutto meat, and some burrata cheese, and suggested using ingredients of your choice. And just like that, the chickpea bread burger was ready.  “I always make this bread and use it to make a sandwich when I don’t have time to cook but I still want to enjoy a nice meal! I usually make my sandwich with fresh rocket, tomatoes, prosciutto and burrata and I always drizzle a good amount of olive oil to make it,” he wrote in the caption. Watch the video here:
