Sabudana is undoubtedly the most popular food consumed during fasting days. Also known as tapioca pearls, they are rich in fibre and essential nutrients, making them a healthy addition to your diet. Make a delicious khichdi or prepare sabudana tikki to enjoy as an evening snack.

2. Fruits

You can also relish a bowl of fruits during Shravan. Not only are they super refreshing, but they will also keep you full for a longer period. It’s best to enjoy them raw instead of juicing them to reap their benefits. Choose from fruits such as bananas, apples, grapes, papaya, etc.

Here Are 5 Foods To Avoid During Shravan:

Now that you know about the foods you can eat, here are some that you are supposed to skip during this time:

1. Eggs

During the month of Shravan, you should ideally consume vegetarian foods. Eggs do not fall into this category, which is why you must avoid eating them. While they are packed with protein, they are considered inauspicious for consumption during fasting.

2. Onion/Garlic

Onion and garlic surely add flavour to dishes, but they are prohibited from your diet during Shravan. This is because they are said to produce heat in the body. It is advised to eat only sattvic food without these ingredients.

3. Fried Foods

Anything that is fried is generally unhealthy for us. While fasting, our aim should be to eat healthier foods to stay fit and healthy. Consuming foods high in oil, such as pakodas and French fries, can lead to stomach problems such as bloating and gas, causing discomfort.
