Dietician Shares 3 Diets That Lead To Bad Hair Health
In a video shared on her Instagram handle, Dietician Shweta J Panchal shared three diets that lead to bad hair health.
1. High-Mercury Foods
Dietician Shweta J Panchal mentions that several studies have proved that higher levels of mercury in your diet can lead to a lot of hair fall. One of the most common sources of mercury is fish, however, it also depends on its type. The ones with the higher quantities of mercury should be avoided, as per dietician Panchal.
2. High-Sugar Foods
To tackle the high-sugar food intake, the body will have to produce more insulin. The increase in insulin production leads to an increase in androgens – the male hormones. This in turn shrinks your hair follicles which results in hair fall.
3. FAD Diet
The cells of our hair bulb have a higher turnover rate – meaning old cells are replaced with new ones at a very rapid rate. Dietician Panchal shared that because of this if your body experiences any kind of micro or macronutrient deficiency, you will immediately start experiencing hair fall.
5 Foods That Can Prevent Hair Fall And Promote Growth
Our hair needs vitamin C, fatty acids, zinc, iron, and other multivitamins that help achieve thick and long hair. If you are someone who is struggling with bad hair health, then you should definitely incorporate these foods into your diet.
1. Spinach
Loaded with vitamin C, iron, and other essential nutrients, spinach is extremely beneficial for promoting hair growth. If you have a low-iron diet, make sure to include spinach in your diet to get thick and long hair.
2. Eggs
Eggs are a great source of protein which is required to grow thick and luscious hair. Aside from protein, eggs also contain biotin which is needed to prevent hair loss. Since our hair is made of a protein called keratin, it is vital to have protein-rich foods.
3. Almonds
Packed with zinc, Vitamin E, omega-3 fatty acids, etc. which are essential for hair growth, almonds can be beneficial if you want to grow thick and long hair. Almonds nourish hair from its roots and help in making them shinier and stronger. Aside from that, almonds also act as a protective barrier for the hair and prevent it from environmental damage.
4. Chia Seeds
Chia seeds are packed with the goodness of protein, phosphorus, and copper which lead to thick and long hair. These seeds help in providing our hair with keratin which prevents breakage and enhances hair growth.
