However, not everyone seemed familiar with this unique fruit, leading to some amusing questions and reactions. One person humorously asked, “Y’all eating this? It looks like kiwi legs.” 

Another curious individual questioned the edibility of the fruit, wondering, “Is this fruit edible? What does it taste like so strange?”

Cecropia are sweet and have a honey-like flavour with subtle notes of both honey and maple syrup.

A chemist shared insightful comments on the X post, emphasising the nutritional value of the fruits, stating, “the fruits of the Cecropia tree are known for 

Nutritional value. The fruit is high in protein and nutrients. Also, The fruit can be made into a syrup to soothe coughs and bronchitis. The leaves are used as herbal medicine, and the tree is often planted for its tropical landscape effects.”

Cecropia fruit trees have been native to Central America, South America, and the Caribbean for centuries, flourishing in the wild since ancient times, according to Specialty Produce. These trees thrive in tropical to subtropical climates, and their growth has been facilitated by the natural dispersal of tiny seeds through animal excrement.

Cecropia Tree leaves and fruits are full of flavonoids, giving them colour and nutritional perks like anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.
